Leadership

Gloria J. Grantham, Ph.D.

Dr. Grantham has more than 38 years of experience as an educational consultant and trainer. Her work has included Senior Diversity Specialist consulting, training for teachers, counselors, administrators, higher education deans, professors, and student affairs professionals, and extensive support for schools and school districts.

She began her career teaching high school and then middle school science. Her leadership experience spans district supervision, school administration, and higher education, including service as a dean, associate provost, executive director/divisional superintendent, and CEO/Superintendent of schools.

Dr. Grantham also served as an associate professor in Howard University’s doctoral program in the School of Education and at the University of the District of Columbia, teaching educational administration to aspiring school leaders and graduate students.

Dr. Grantham created the Scholastic Advancement Model and has authored programs and training models focused on student learning, school and classroom behavior, and reading readiness.

Education & preparation

Education

Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Policy Studies, with a minor in Psychology, from the University of Pittsburgh.

School leadership

Experience as a school district supervisor, assistant principal, executive director/divisional superintendent, and CEO/Superintendent of schools.

Higher education

Leadership experience as a dean at three institutions and as Associate Provost, alongside teaching in psychology, counseling, and education.

Training

Post-doctoral certificate in Lifelong Learning from Harvard University, Common Core training, and additional professional training documented in her biography.

Public service

State of Delaware court-appointed special advocate for abused and neglected children in the family court system.

Recognition

Recipient of leadership and professional development awards from educational organizations and school communities.
