What is S.A.M.?

A process built around the conditions for learning

S.A.M. helps schools identify indicators in the teaching and learning process that negatively affect classroom learning, particularly for struggling learners or students whose performance is below grade expectations.

It is designed to teach children how to learn and to prepare teachers to create classroom environments in which any child can learn. S.A.M. is not a stand-alone reading program. It is a structured school and district problem-solving process.

The goal of S.A.M.

Bring readers to proficiency.

The process gives sustained attention to reading and language arts while strengthening teaching, instruction, school leadership, relationships, and the time students need to learn.
